Job Summary

The CT Technologist II performs advanced CT imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment, ensuring high-quality images and compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, patient preparation, contrast administration, radiation safety, quality control, and assisting in interventional procedures, all while maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

• Perform CT imaging with accuracy, following protocols to produce diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients, obtain medical history, and provide instructions.
• Administer contrast media safely, monitor for reactions.
• Follow radiation safety standards, minimizing exposure using ALARA principles.
• Conduct quality control checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Review orders and documentation, record data accurately in RIS and EMR.
• Perform creatinine testing with I-Stat device and manage contrast protocols.
• Assist in interventional CT procedures, ensuring patient comfort.
• Respond to emergencies, following protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned, complying with all policies.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience as an X-Ray technologist required.
• 1-2 years CT experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in CT imaging, contrast, and anatomy.
• Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA.
• Ability to handle emergencies and sterile procedures.
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, EMR systems.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Licenses and Certifications

• Licensed Radiologic Technologist (state-specific)
• ARRT Radiography Certification with CT specialization (required or preferred)
• CT - Computed Tomography certification (required)
• BCLS within 90 days of hire (required)
