Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital. You will perform CT procedures, maintain image quality, and ensure safety for patients and staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma, ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, and BLS, with at least 1 year radiology experience. The role offers full-time schedules with sign-on bonus eligibility and relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications
• BLS certification from American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain ALARA principles
• Clean, disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and two unique patient identifiers
• Explain procedures and prep to reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the visit
• Administer contrast and use venipuncture/sterile technique as applicable
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization
• Review images for diagnostic quality and finalize studies in RIS/PACS
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies as needed
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow
• Keep areas stocked and comply with regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging or radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms or equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed)
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
