Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high‑quality imaging and a supportive patient experience at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital in Georgia.

As a valued member of a collaborative care team, you will perform CT exams, maintain ALARA principles, and support efficient department flow. A minimum of 1 year radiology experience and ARRT certifications are required, with sign‑on bonus eligibility and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-CT certification.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently, maintaining ALARA and diagnostic quality.
• Maintain infection control; clean, disinfect, and restock rooms and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol with proper venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat if needed; release patients appropriately.
• Document studies accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrieval as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and be prepared to respond to emergencies; support life-support equipment.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging or radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms or equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS (including transfers/retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed)
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists/modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging/clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
