Job summary

Wellstar Medical Group operates a New Mobile CT Unit in Augusta, GA, seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. The role emphasizes independent operation of imaging equipment, adherence to safety and infection-control standards, and collaboration within a care-team.

Ideal candidates have an accredited radiologic technology background, ARRT credentials, and at least 1 year radiology experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and apply ALARA principles to minimize dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, screen for contraindications, verify orders and two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures, prep, and postcare using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and finalize in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with lifepreserver equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes; coordinate with other technologists to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, and report issues to the supervisor.
