Job summary

The CT Technologist at Wellstar delivers safe, high-quality imaging and a compassionate patient experience at our Georgia facility. You will work as part of a collaborative care team to ensure accurate exams and patient comfort throughout the visit.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines; capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely; adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at ALARA dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol; use venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly; apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and finalize in RIS/PACS.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation; ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help restock crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timelines; collaborate with technologists to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance; keep areas orderly and stocked; transport patients safely.
