Job summary

Wellstar is hiring a CT Technologist for a full-time day shift at Cobb Hospital in Georgia. You will deliver high-quality CT imaging, maintain patient safety, and support a collaborative care team in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role emphasizes ALARA practices, patient communication, and accurate documentation, with opportunities for professional growth within Wellstar’s integrated health system.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• Certifications: ARRT-CT - ARRT Computed Tomography.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and maintain diagnostic image quality.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to ALARA principles.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment; report any issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients, addressing questions and reducing anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast using aseptic technique as applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers and shielding, and immobilize as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and rescan when necessary.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department operations.
