Job summary

Tampa General Hospital-Hernando is seeking a CT Technologist 2 to perform complex CT procedures, including cardiac and interventional scans, while ensuring patient safety and high-quality diagnostic results.

The role requires completion of a radiologic technology program or an imaging-related associate degree, ARRT certification in radiography/NM/CT, and Florida or compact-state licensure. BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Technical training in radiologic technology or an imaging-focused degree.
• ARRT certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and related areas.
• BLS certification and state licensure (Florida or Compact State) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs exams according to established procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Selects pre-established technical protocols and imaging sequences for each examination.
• Verifies pregnancy status for female patients when applicable.
• Assists with procedures using sterile technique as required.
• Communicates clearly with patients about procedures; uses two identifiers and confirms orders.
• Maintains composure under stress and calls for assistance as needed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions through the proper chain of command.
• Demonstrates computer literacy for verifying orders and recording results.
• Obtains adequate history and ensures correct exam is performed per guidelines.
