Job summary

Jobtailor in Lowell, MA is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans and provide diagnostic-quality images under department policies.

You will independently operate CT equipment, verify protocols and safety, manage IV contrast, and train students and technologists while maintaining high standards of patient care and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in radiology or a related field.
• ARRT certification as Radiologic Technologist is required.
• CT certification (ARRT/NMTCB) or NMTCB is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans on assigned patients following department policies and procedures.
• Provide high-quality images to assist radiologists' diagnoses.
• Verify patient identity, imaging protocols, scanner parameters, and safety.

Job description

• Perform Computed Tomography (CT) scan procedures on assigned patients according to department and hospital policies and procedures
• Perform safe, accurate, and timely CT procedures meeting radiological standards and American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging standards
• Provide images enabling radiologists and physicians to make radiological diagnoses
• Independently perform CT scans and verify patients, procedures, imaging protocols, scanner parameters, and safety requirements
• Provide clear and accurate instructions to patients
• Ensure IV access and administer IV contrast
• Perform quality control on equipment and devices
• Communicate with staff and departments to coordinate patient care
• Maintain supply stock and request replenishment
• Keep work areas clean and functional according to DPH and The Joint Commission requirements
• Work cooperatively across departments and service lines to support quality health care
• Work independently and serve as a clinical/technical resource for students and technologists
• Participate in ongoing education and training
• Train and educate students and technologists on proper procedures and techniques

Requirements

• Associate degree in Radiology or related field
• Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT)
• CT Certification (ARRT) or (NMTCB)
• Radiologic Technologist state license eligible
• 0-2 years of experience as a CT Technologist
• Basic Life Support Certification
• Preferred: X-Ray experience
• Knowledge of radiologic equipment, examinations, and procedures
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols
• Very Good communication skills
• Very Good customer service skills
• Ability to organize and set priorities
• Ability to work independently
• Training and education skills
• Ability to frequently stand, occasionally sit, walk, and lift 30-35 lbs
• Manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment
• Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear audible equipment alarms
• Ability to work with exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases
