Summary

Conducts complex procedures and tests using Computed Tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Collaborates with teams such as Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiology to obtain necessary imaging for advanced diagnoses, aiding in treatment decisions.

Responsibilities

1. Perform complex CT procedures to acquire and analyze diagnostic data, collaborating with various medical teams.
2. Assist radiologists in high-risk invasive procedures, contributing to alternative approaches and scan parameter adjustments to limit radiation exposure.
3. Evaluate contraindications, patient preparation, and tolerance, coordinating with care teams to ensure optimal procedures.
4. Perform specialized CT procedures including CTA perfusion and stroke series; train team members on these and other high-risk exams.
5. Recognize normal and abnormal scan characteristics, alerting radiologists to questionable findings.
6. Manipulate parameters for cardiac and gated exams, ensuring proper equipment and computer setup.
7. Analyze scan data throughout procedures, ensuring comprehensive exams and noting any complications.
8. Manage care triage for anesthesia exams, educate care teams, and ensure optimal imaging parameters.
9. Obtain and manipulate images per protocols, perform reconstructions, and select appropriate settings.
10. Administer contrast agents safely, establish IV access, and verify patient eligibility before contrast administration.

Education and Certification

• Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program with advanced CT registry.

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or eligible; provide diploma if eligible.
• Maintain advanced CT certification and ongoing education.
• Maintain current BLS competency.

Experience

• Minimum three years as a CT Technologist.

Work Type: Full Time, Onsite, Day Schedule

Hours: 40/week

Salary Range: $33.04 – $47.50/hour, based on experience and internal equity
