Job summary

Atrium Health is hiring a CT Radiology Technologist to perform CT scanning, administer IV contrast, and ensure imaging quality while coordinating with Radiologists. You will verify orders, prepare patients, obtain histories, and maintain safety protocols in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and CT registry within one year, plus BLS. Sign-on bonus eligible and a rotating schedule including weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry in CT within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examine requests and verify orders with Radiologist before exam.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and prepare them with a full explanation of procedures.
• Interview patients for medical history and review EMRs for pertinent history.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from start to completion.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol; record type and amount as instructed.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in condition; assist in emergencies.
• Perform CT scanning and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Obtain medication/contrast material as directed by a licensed practitioner.
• Practice radiation safety and report equipment malfunctions.
• Follow fire safety procedures and attend safety modules.
• Rotate shifts, including call-back, holidays, and weekends; adhere to attendance policies.
• Operate radiology computer system; document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work area clean and fully stocked; assist other medical personnel.
