Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
• Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required (within two years of hire).
• State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
• Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
• An Associate's degree is required; must obtain Associates of Science within three years per Education Agreement.
• Certification in CPR.
• Yearly PEEPS certification for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
• Completion of IV training course.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
• Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (ACR, Joint Commission).
• Enter patient study information into clinical care systems accurately.
• Assist in coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
• Obtain clinical history and consent.
• Verify insurance pre-authorization prior to scanning.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and use two identifiers.
• Assist in learning of students and new staff in procedures and radiation safety.
