Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or NMTCB program.
• ARRT Radiology certification or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine certification required; ARRT CT registry within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of growth and development and patient population handling.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders with the Radiologist before performing exam; contacts ordering provider if discrepancies.
• Identify patient using two identifiers and explain procedures; prepare patient and document on worksheets.
• Review EMR to obtain pertinent clinical history and record on requisitions; correlate results.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from start to dictated results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol; record contrast type and amount when requested.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist; perform additional reconstructions as instructed.
• Provide basic patient care; inform nursing staff of condition changes; initiate life support if needed.
• Perform CT scanning and assist Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Operate radiology computer system and document contrast administration; keep work area clean and stocked.
• Rotate shifts including call back, holidays, and weekends; adhere to attendance policies.
