Qualifications

• Graduate of an institution accredited by ARRT in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire required. BLS required.
• Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts and exposure to ionizing radiation.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders and refer/discuss with Radiologist before exams.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and prepare them for procedures.
• Interview patients to gather medical history and review EMRs.
• Manage exam from start to final dictated results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocols.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist as needed.
• Perform CT scans and assist during invasive procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and safety policies.
• Operate radiology computer system and document contrast administration.
• Assist anesthesia during CT exams.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and safety policies.
