Job summary

Wellstar — Columbia County Medical Center Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and support an excellent patient experience. You will perform CT exams, adhere to ALARA, verify orders and identifiers, and collaborate with a team of radiology professionals in a busy hospital setting.

Required are 1 year radiology experience, ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, BLS, and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification and ARRT-CT certification required.
• BLS certification as per American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently with ALARA principles.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast with venipuncture when needed.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and release patients appropriately.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock life-support equipment.
• Coordinate daily workflows and support department operations.
