Job summary

RUSH Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a CT Technologist for per diem evening, night, and weekend shifts with very flexible hours.

This role performs CT imaging procedures, prepares patients, administers contrast as directed, ensures safety and quality, and supports basic clerical tasks. Eligible candidates will have ARRT or CMRT certification and BLS, plus CT experience.

• Explain the procedure to patients and create a comfortable environment.
• Ensure proper patient positioning and safe procedural practices.
• Operate CT scanner to acquire cross-sectional images.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and creating a comfortable environment.
• Use of proper patient positioning and technical factors to produce quality diagnostic studies.
• Operate a CT scanner to produce cross-sectional images of desired patient anatomy.
• Administer contrast media as directed by referring physician.
• Monitor the patient for adverse drug events and report accordingly.
• Perform routine quality assurance on equipment and identify basic malfunctions.
• Perform clerical duties, such as answering phones.

Schedule: Per Diem / PRN - Evening Shifts, Night Shifts and/or weekend shifts available - Very Flexible Hours

Compensation: $50 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and hold current state license (as required).
• At least 1 year experience as a CT Technologist (not including school).
• Must have ARRT or CMRT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must be current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating facility‑specific equipment desirable.
