Job summary

Wellstar Columbia County Medical Center Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. You will perform CT procedures, ensure diagnostic image quality, and collaborate with the care team in a fast-paced radiology department.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of an accredited radiologic technology program, and ARRT radiography/CT certifications, with a minimum of 1 year radiology experience and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT certifications.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality per ALARA.
• Maintain room cleanliness and infection-control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Verify orders and patient identifiers; obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients; address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Provide patient comfort, privacy, and age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply shielding as indicated; ensure proper immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat as needed; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help restock life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow.
• Support operations, keep areas stocked, and ensure regulatory compliance.
