Job summary

System Support is seeking a CT Technologist for the MVH facility to independently perform CT procedures, manage contrast administration, and ensure patient safety. The role requires accordance with licensure and continual adherence to imaging standards.

The position involves coordinating patient flow, educating patients about exams, and assisting radiologists during procedures or emergencies. On-call duties may apply, and the candidate must maintain equipment readiness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• ARRT RT (R) registry required.
• CT registry preferred.
• ODH licensure required.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.
• Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.
• Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
• Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
• Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about the exam.
• Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
• Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
• Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
