Job summary

Equiliem is seeking a Cat Scan Technologist to perform CT procedures and generate diagnostic images. You will review patient history, manage contrast administration, and coordinate with Radiologists to ensure accurate, timely imaging.

The role requires AT LEAST ARRT (CT) and BLS certifications, works a Tue-Sat night shift, and involves patient preparation, safety protocols, and cross-functional collaboration within the Radiology Department.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning.
• Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware.
• Thorough knowledge of PACS system.
• Maintains CEU Credits.
• ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of hire date.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures.
• Uses professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patients clinical history and documenting in PACS.
• Prepares, screens and reviews the contrast questionnaire with patient and scans into EPIC.
• Identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed.
• Reviews prescriptions to verify exam appropriateness and communicates with Radiologist as needed.
• Calls physicians to clarify prescriptions per CT protocols.
• Verifies insurance authorization and handles exam modifications with Finance.
• Obtains outside studies and ensures availability in PACS for Radiologists.
• Provides exam copies to patient and requesting physician or family member.
• Evaluates radiographs using PACS for proper identification and diagnostic value.
• Gathers information for scanning and patient safety.
• Determines patient preparation for procedures.
• Preps patient for scanning with shielding and immobilization.
• Determines contrast type and dose.
• Provides clear explanations to patients.
• Performs venipuncture and IV maintenance as needed.
• Monitors patient for adverse reactions during procedures.
• Works shifts including holidays/weekends; on call as needed.
• Adheres to Employee ID, Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies.
• Lifts 25 lbs, pushes/pulls 50 lbs, stands 6 hours daily.
• Addresses needs of patient populations served.
