Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT, radiology, and fluoroscopy exams for patients of all ages, including neonates through geriatric. The role requires weekend and shift rotations, with on-call as needed to provide around-the-clock coverage.

Responsibilities include accurate CT procedures, contrast administration, data entry into HIS/RIS systems, and patient communication. AMA‑accredited Radiology program and ARRT/CT certifications are expected, with licensure where

Qualifications

• Knowledge of human growth and development and competence in providing Radiologic services for patients of all ages.
• Knowledge of computer technology.
• Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills to relate to physician, peers and patients on a professional and technical level.
• Ability to perform general diagnostic radiography/fluoroscopy and portable radiography examination and procedures on patients of all ages.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques.
• Ability to work with Radiography students with varying skill levels.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Ability to operate CT scan equipment with attention to detail.
• Must be able for on-call rotation and call back to the hospital.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays and available for all shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate CT procedures according to protocol, using optimal techniques and parameters to produce quality images for patients of all ages.
• Explain procedures, gather pertinent information, review and confirm with patient; patient history and contrast history questionnaire form.
• Perform contrast injections as ordered by physician.
• Enter data into the HIS system to order exams as necessary; use RIS to capture visit and charge information.
• Adhere to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the Radiologist and ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures as necessary.
• Supervise radiography students in the clinical setting.
• Communicate with manager or department director on productivity issues.
• Pull files for upcoming exams as needed.
