Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience in a busy radiology department. You will join a collaborative team of technologists providing care with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• ARRT-R (Radiography)
• ARRT-CT certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders; ensure two patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care during the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique as needed.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat/correct as needed.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; handle transfers/retrievals and prior exam retrieval.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows; collaborate with colleagues to support department flow.
• Support operations and compliance; keep areas orderly and stocked and handle charging/clerical tasks.
