Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA seeks a dedicated Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) for a full-time Tuesday–Friday schedule, 1:00pm–11:30pm. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible.

The CT Tech will perform radiographic CT procedures, ensure proper patient identification and imaging quality, and support department operations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• Must be certified by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist; CT Certification within one year of acceptance of the offer.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or Computed Tomography Technologist in a hospital/healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of IVs, heparin locks and central line usage as they pertain to computed tomography.
• Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
• Correctly identifies patients and their files by ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
• Tracks patients according to department procedures; identifies errors and corrects them in EMR/PACS/RIS systems.
• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of radiography

ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification

BLS (American Heart Association) certification

CT Technologist (CT Tech) Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of IVs, heparin locks and central line usage as they pertain to computed tomography, as evidenced by observations by supervisors and peers.
• Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
• Correctly identifies patients and their files by ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled films, images and EMR charts.
• Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS systems as well as the Radiology Information Systems reports.
• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• License: Must be certified by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain CT Certification one year upon acceptance of the offer.
• Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
• Experience: Prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or Computed Tomography Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment, preferred.
