Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) to join our Radiology Services team. This PRN, varied shift role focuses on high-quality CT imaging and patient safety.

The CT Tech will perform imaging procedures, maintain equipment and adhere to safety protocols. PRN status offers scheduling flexibility to cover peak times across departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist required on start.
• CT Certification required within one year of acceptance.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required on start.

Responsibilities

• Administers sound patient care according to department and hospital policies to ensure patient safety.
• Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient departmental operations.
• Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintains equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
• Tracks patients in EMR/PACS/RIS systems and corrects errors as needed.
• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives and in‑services.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) Job Responsibilities

The Computed Tomography Technologist administers sound patient care practices, according to department and hospital policies/procedures, to ensure patient safety.

Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.

Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.

Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of the patients and employees.

Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS systems as well as the Radiology Information Systems reports.

Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in‑services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• Certification:
  • Must be certified by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist required upon start.
  • Must obtain CT Certification one year upon acceptance of the offer.
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or Computed Tomography Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment, preferred.
