Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech) for weekend premium, full-time Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays 12:00 pm - 12:00 am. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.
• ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist required on start.
• CT Certification required within one year of acceptance.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required on start.
• Preferred: experience as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist or Computed Tomography Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Administers sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.
• Provides clinical radiology services according to practice standards and supports radiography students and other technologists.
• Tracks patients according to department procedures and uses EMR/PACS systems for accuracy.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings; may perform additional duties as assigned.

• The Computed Tomography Technologist administers sound patient care practices, according to department and hospital policies/procedures, to ensure patient safety. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.


• Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self, as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of the patients and employees.


• Provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to radiography students and other technologists, to ensure optimal department functions.


• Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS systems as well as the Radiology Information Systems reports.


• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.


• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of radiography.

Certification:

Must be certified by ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist upon start.

Must obtain CT Certification one year upon acceptance of the offer.

Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association upon start.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or Computed Tomography Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment, preferred.
