Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Christiansburg seeks a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures with a focus on image quality and patient care. The role involves operating advanced CT systems, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safe contrast administration.

The ideal candidate will have CT registration within one year of hire, ARRT CT registry, BLS, and strong interpersonal skills. This Flex/PRN position supports varying shifts and travel to other Carilion facilities as needed.

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Responsibilities

• Operates highly specialized CT equipment to obtain quality images.
• Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.
• Performs IV contrast injections and other required skills.
• Evaluates and positions patients.
• Interacts with patients, families, visitors and healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
• Assists patients with scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing.
• Trains students and staff as assigned.

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

Hours: Flexible day/hours/shifts

The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients.

The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist

• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images.
• Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.
• Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Evaluates and positions patients.
• Interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
• Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
• Assists patients with scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing Trains students and staff as assigned.
• May need to travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.

What We Require:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Experience: none

Licensure/Certification: Must be CT registered within one year of hire. ARRT registry

Life Support: AHA-BLS-HCP

Other: Good interpersonal and technical skills, and flexibility in assignments.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
