Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• CT registration required within one year of hire (ARRT).
• Current BLS-Healthcare Provider supplied by American Heart Association.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and technical skills; flexible assignments.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
• Perform IV contrast injections and related procedures.
• Position and prepare patients; coordinate care with physicians.
• Assist with scheduling, registration, and file management; teach students and staff.
• Travel to other Carilion facilities as needed.

The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients.The CT (Computed tomography) Technologist* Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images.* Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.* Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.* Evaluates and positions patients.* Interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirement and/or specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.* Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.* Assists patients with scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing Trains students and staff as assigned.* May need to travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs.# **What We Require:****Education:** High school graduate or equivalent.
