Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT Technologist to examine and verify orders, prepare patients, and perform CT scans in a fast-paced radiology department. You will review patient histories, assist radiologists during procedures, and maintain radiation safety protocols while documenting procedures and contrast administration.

The role requires ARRT/NMTCB certifications and BLS, with rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine, and ARRT CT within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient and refers to Radiologist before performing exam.
• Identify and assist patients, prepare them for procedures, and document on worksheets.
• Interview patients for medical history and review EMR to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assists in CT scanning and invasive procedures with proper sterile technique.
• Operates radiology computer system, enters orders and documents contrast administration in MAR.
• Maintains radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
• Rotates shifts including call back, holidays, and weekends per attendance policy.
