Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform prescribed radiographic imaging at a technical level with independent judgment. The role includes preparing equipment, selecting exposure factors, administering contrast media when ordered, and ensuring patient safety.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree or equivalent, and ARRT RT certification (or NMTCB CT) with required CT certifications within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography or NMTCB registered (CNMT) required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) independently. Analyzes results and resolves image quality issues.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders; educates patient regarding procedures and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; monitors patient condition.
• Prepares equipment; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters; performs quality control and troubleshoots equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography (R) or NMTCB registered (CNMT)
