Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services nationwide, with a strong commitment to patient care. We are hiring a CT Technologist for PRN coverage to ensure patient safety and high-quality CT studies, collaborating with radiologists and clinical staff.

Responsibilities include patient safety screening, acquiring diagnostic CT images, communicating with the care team, and training new technologists or patient coordinators as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT Registration in Computed Tomography (or NMTCB CT in lieu of ARRT) and State license where service is provided.
• CPR certification.
• Active State Driver's License for mid-day moves.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Patient Safety and pre-screening for radiation/contrast contraindications.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).

We are currently hiring for a CT Tech . This will be a PRN position.

The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT. If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license. Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves. Active State Driver's License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
