HCA Houston Healthcare West in Houston, TX, is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT equipment and prepare patients for imaging exams. You will position patients to optimize image quality and ensure safety during contrast administration.

The role requires RT/Radiologic Technologist certification with ARRT-R, and BCLS within 30 days, plus on-site collaboration with physicians for accurate diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RT Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer certification.
• ARRT-R Radiography certification.

Job Summary and Qualifications

CT Technologist prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician. Techs operate CT equipment, which produces cross-sectional images of patients’ bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions.

What you will do in this role:

• Demonstrates competency in patient preparation including consent, scheduling and screening, patient education.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient assessment including history, monitoring, vital signs, oximetry, heart rhythm.
• Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory values including renal function (e.g. BUN, Creatinine clearance, GFR, PT.
• Demonstrates knowledge of IV procedures, venipuncture, site selection, aseptic and sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of contrast agents, ionic, non-ionic, hyper-osmolar, iso-osmolar, barium sulfate, water.
• Demonstrates knowledge of administration route (IV, oral, rectal, intrathecal, catheters, intra-articular) and calculations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of technical factors affecting patient dose; KVp, MAs, pitch, collimation MA modulation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of radiation protection and dose measurement and CT dose index (CTDI).

What qualifications you will need:
