The CT Technologist is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality imaging and providing a supportive patient experience at a medical center. They work independently to perform CT procedures, ensuring diagnostic images meet quality standards while adhering to safety protocols and ALARA principles. Key duties include preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast, positioning patients, reviewing images, and documenting accurately in RIS/PACS systems. They also maintain equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, respond to emergencies, and support department operations.
Qualities include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and at least one year of radiology experience. Certifications required are ARRT-R in Radiography, ARRT-CT in Computed Tomography, and BLS from the American Heart Association.
