Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks a CT Technologist for per diem shifts at Dallas Medical Center. You will operate CT scanners and X-ray equipment, position patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety during imaging.

Work with radiologists to support image quality and interpretation, assist with contrast administration as needed, and maintain equipment QA and infection control practices. A state radiology license and BCLS are required.

Qualifications

• One year of acute radiology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CT imaging and fluoroscopy equipment required.
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiology program.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit required by state.
• ARRT CT Certification required.
• Must maintain BCLS (AHA) on hire.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and position them on the CT table, explaining the procedure with empathy.
• Operate CT scanners and X-ray machines to obtain images while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Monitor patients for comfort and safety during procedures.
• Assist radiologists in image interpretation and, when needed, administer contrast agents.
• Maintain quality assurance for CT/X-ray equipment and ensure proper operation.
• Maintain radiologic supplies and follow infection control protocols.
• Participate in PI and QC activities and support Performance Improvement Programs.
• Maintain BCLS (AHA) certification status.

Location: Dallas Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have

• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times

• Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure

• Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures

• Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images

• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene

• Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP)
• Maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain your register status for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
• Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• Effective 07/01/2015, CT ARRT Certification is required.
• Must maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.
• Proficient computer skills.
