Job summary

Dallas Medical Center in Dallas seeks a CT Technologist for per diem coverage. You will prepare patients, position them on the CT table, explain procedures with empathy, and monitor safety during imaging.

You will operate CT scanners and X-ray machines, optimize image quality while reducing radiation exposure, assist radiologists, and maintain equipment and infection control protocols. BCLS and ARRT registry status must be kept current.

Qualifications

• One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
• Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• CT ARRT Certification is required.
• Must maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ensure they are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure with empathy.
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images, adjusting settings to optimize quality and minimize radiation exposure.
• Monitor patients for comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Assist radiologists in interpreting images and administering contrast as needed.
• Maintain quality assurance for CT/X-ray equipment to ensure proper function.
• Maintain radiologic supplies and follow infection control protocols.
• Participate in PI and QC activities and support Performance Improvement Programs.
• Maintain BCLS (AHA) and ARRT registry status.

• O perate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
• M onitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
• A ssist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
• A ccountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
• R esponsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene
• P articipate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP)
• M aintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain your register status for the Am erican Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT)
