Job summary

Prime Healthcare's St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO seeks a CT Technologist (Radiologic Technologist II) for per diem shifts. You will operate CT scanners and X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images and assist radiologists, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

CT certification and ARRT-CT are required, along with state licensure/fluoroscopy permit and BCLS. Per diem hours vary; shifts are flexible.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)

Hours: Variable

Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

We are seeking a CT Technologist, internallyreferred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech). As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Responsibilities

**To perform duties in this position you must be CT certified and certified in one other modality.

• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
• Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
• Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
• Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene

Qualifications

• One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred
• Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required
• Radiology/ CT license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• ARRT-CT Certification is required
• Must possess and maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire
• Proficient computer skills
