Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Per Diem CT Technologist to join our radiology team at the Dallas Medical Center location. You will operate CT scanners and X‑ray equipment, position patients, and ensure high‑quality imaging with strict radiation safety.

The role requires collaboration with radiologists and adherence to infection control protocols. The ideal candidate holds a JRCERT‑accredited education program, active radiology license with fluoroscopy, and CT ARRT certification, plus BCLS (AHA).

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit as required by state.
• CT ARRT Certification required.
• Maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and position them for CT exams with empathy and explain the procedure.
• Operate CT scanners and X‑ray machines to obtain diagnostic images while minimizing exposure.
• Monitor patients for comfort and safety during procedures.
• Assist radiologists in interpreting images and administering contrast if needed.
• Ensure quality control of CT/X-ray equipment and maintain proper infection control.
• Maintain radiologic supplies and ensure equipment is functional and safe.
• Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and support PIP.
• Keep BCLS current and maintain ARRT registration.

Location: Dallas Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have

• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times

• Monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure

• Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures

• Accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images

• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene

• Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP)
• Maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain your register status for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
• Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit as required by State
• Effective 07/01/2015, CT ARRT Certification is required.
• Must maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.
• Proficient computer skills.
