Job summary

Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT imaging and ensure patient safety. You will collaborate with Radiologists and staff, uphold CQI activities, and apply strict safety protocols during procedures.

The role requires ARRT and Louisiana licensure, an associate degree, and CT experience; BCLS within 30 days. Willingness to work after-hours as needed and to use CR and PACS effectively supports patient care.

Qualifications

• ARRT licensure required for diagnostic radiology.
• Louisiana state licensure required.
• Radiologic technologist/radiographer credential held.
• Associate degree required.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• 1 year radiologic/imaging experience required.
• Specific CT training/experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging procedures and ensure safety protocols.
• Protect patients by applying appropriate positions and shielding.
• Practice medical aseptic procedures and patient care.
• Work under Radiologist supervision at all times.
• Take x-ray and CT calls per monthly schedule after hours.
• Be competent with CR and PACS.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures, including Computed Tomography procedures, and is responsible for safety protocols.Functions as the first line interface with patients. Participates in CQI activities.

What you will do in this role:

• Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock,burnsand extraneous radiation to patients.

• Determinesthe most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.

• Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.

• Works under the direction of the Radiologistat all times.

• Takes x-ray, CT call according to monthly schedule after the closing of regular department hours.

• Competent in the use of CR and PACS.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current ARRT Licensure in Diagnostic Radiology

• Current Louisiana State Licensure

• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer

• Associate degree required

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• 1 years of radiologic/imaging experienceRequired

• Specific training and experience in CT preferred
