Work Hours: Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm until 11 pm. The shift is evenings to help with creating availability for more MRI & CT scans until 11 pm. If schedules are not fully booked until 11 pm, employees may leave early.

Job Summary

Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate care, performing exams, and obtaining quality diagnostic studies. Independently performs technical procedures using equipment for diagnosis and treatment, setting up equipment, and positioning patients.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Patient Care

• Verify clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history.
• Follow procedures for contrast media administration ensuring patient safety.
• Ensure proper patient identification and marker use.
• Review images for quality, respond to emergencies, and assist other technologists.
• Observe patient condition, verify identity, and maintain privacy and dignity.
• Demonstrate competence in procedures, equipment, and patient communication.

Equipment

• Adjust techniques to minimize radiation dose while maintaining image quality.
• Report equipment issues and maintain cleanliness.

Education and Communication

• Explain procedures to patients using AIDET, address questions, and document accurately.
• Participate in training and ensure compliance with policies.

Quality Control

• Produce acceptable images, check equipment calibration, and manage studies in PACS/RIS.

Operations

• Restock supplies, transport and position patients, perform charging, and maintain department cleanliness.
• Operate work stations, push/retrieve images, and take call as needed.

Minimum Education & Certifications

• Radiologic Technology certification, ARRT Radiography, ARRT CT, BLS or BLS-Instructor.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year in radiology; less than 1 year in CT preferred.
• Excellent communication, independent functioning, customer service, and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, radiation protection, and quality control standards.
