Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a CT technologist to assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures. You will prepare patients, operate CT equipment, and ensure high-quality scans while maintaining safety protocols.

The role requires ARRT or NMTCB certification, state licensure, and CT experience; relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. Work schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:30pm.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2 Year/Associate Degree preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT Radiography or NMTCB Nuclear Medicine program required.
  • 1 year CT experience preferred.
  • ARRT-CT certification (RT(R)(CT)) or NMTCB/ CNMT CT designation; state license required.
  • Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication, age-appropriate care adaptability, and CT equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders.
  • Prepares patient for procedure and assists during procedures.
  • Demonstrates understanding of anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Modifies care according to patient age, condition, and abilities.
  • Follows licensed practitioner protocols and optimizes technical factors for patient safety.
  • Identifies, prepares, and administers medications including contrast media as prescribed.
  • Performs venipuncture as prescribed.
  • Evaluates images for quality and ensures proper patient identification and laterality.

The CT technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the CT equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

What You'll Do
  • Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders.
  • Prepares patient for procedure and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age, condition, and abilities.
  • Follows protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
  • Identifies, prepares, and administers medications, including contrast media, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Performs venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluates images for quality and ensures proper recording of accurate patient identification and anatomical laterality.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or Graduate of ARRT-approved or NMTCB-recognized Nuclear Medicine Program, required.
  • Experience: One year experience in CT, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • NH Medical Group Office-Certified and registered: by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) or RT(N)(CT) or CNMT, RT(CT); required.
    • Applicable state license, required.
  • Additional Skills Required: Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates CT equipment.
