Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cat Scan Technician for our acute hospital. The role involves preparing radiopharmaceuticals, performing CT imaging per physician orders, and ensuring patient safety and comfort on a busy clinical floor.

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate or Associate degree in radiologic technology.
• Graduate of Nuclear Medicine program; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current Radiation Operator Certificate; ARRT Radiology registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures and exam for cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• On-call availability for regularly scheduled shifts; report within 30 minutes.
