Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging and radiologic procedures. The role includes on-call duties, rotating weekends and holidays, and potential shifts at the Lenoir location, requiring flexibility and reliability.

Applicants must hold a two-year certificate or higher in radiologic technology, a current state Radiation Operator Certificate, ARRT registration in Radiology and CT, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and other meds per physician orders.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Implements safety standards and quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions as needed.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• On-call availability; report within 30 minutes of notification.

How you’ll contribute

Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders. Additional responsibilities include:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.



• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.


• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.


• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.


• Prepares equipment and supplies.


• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.


• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.


• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).


• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.


• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.


• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.


• On Call Availability,On-Call Availability: Must accept on call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts and be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by technologists on duty.
