Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. The role involves preparing patients, assessing history, and collaborating with radiologists, all on-site as a per diem assignment within Pardee UNC Health Care's CT Scan unit.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT CT registration, be knowledgeable in anatomy, and have experience interpreting radiology orders. Preference given to those familiar with PACS and Abbott i-Stat platforms.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Science.
• Registration as CT technologist from American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists.
• Good understanding of human anatomy.
• Experience reading and interpreting complex radiology orders.
• Experience with PACS (preferred).
• Experience with point-of-care testing such as Abbott i-Stat (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conducts computerized tomography (CT) screening, ensuring safe function and best quality imaging.
• Reads and comprehends imaging orders, consulting radiologist as needed.
• Gathers consent for contrast, establishes IV access, and may draw blood for GFR analysis.
• Interviews patients to assess risk factors and medical history for safety.
• Selects scanning protocols and imaging parameters based on anatomy and imaging capabilities.
• Guides patients through examinations, explaining the process and maintaining composure.
