Job summary

UAB Medical West Hospital is seeking a CT/Radiology Scan Technician to operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images and patient safety. The role involves patient preparation, explanations of procedures, and collaboration with radiologists to support clinical decision-making.

The technician will handle image quality checks, maintain accurate imaging logs, and adhere to radiation safety standards in a fast-paced hospital radiology department.

Qualifications

• Accredited Radiologic Technology program with a CT imaging focus.
• ARRT (or equivalent) Radiologic Technologist certification.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging techniques, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and radiology imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images per protocols.
• Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Review images for quality and clarity, adjusting settings as needed for optimal results.
• Maintain detailed patient records and imaging logs per privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams to discuss imaging results.
