Job summary

The CT/Radiology Scan Technician role at Medical West Hospital Authority in McCalla, AL, involves operating CT scanners to produce diagnostic images while keeping patient safety paramount. Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on CT imaging.
• Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent.
• Current state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Knowledge of CT imaging techniques and radiation safety.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT scanners and imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images per protocols.
• Position patients for imaging, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Review images for quality and adjust as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams on results.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and safe.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure.
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions.
