Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high‑quality imaging and supportive patient experiences. You will perform CT procedures, ensure image quality, and maintain safety standards in a collaborative care setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and ARRT(R) certification.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; CT certification preferred.
• BLS certification and radiology experience required (1+ year).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely, maintaining diagnostic quality with ALARA.
• Disinfect rooms and equipment; report issues promptly and restock supplies.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Administer contrast per protocol with venipuncture as needed.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and perform repeats if required.
• Document studies accurately in RIS/PACS; manage transfers and prior exams.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and support crash cart readiness.
• Organize daily workflows and collaborate with team to optimize department flow.
• Support regulatory compliance, keep areas orderly, and assist with charging/clerical tasks.
