Job summary

WVU Medicine seeks a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures within the CT Department, rotating through diagnostic radiology as assigned while maintaining radiation and general safety at all times.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from a medical imaging program, ARRT/NMTCB certification within 6 months of hire, and appropriate state radiography licensure. BLS within 30 days and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• ARRT radiography certification or NMTCB within 6 months of hire.
• Radiography license as required by state board where services will be provided (WV/OH/MD/PA).
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, equipment and supplies; maintain sterile technique per policy.
• Explain procedures to patients and document any protocol variations or clinical data.
• Observe patient and equipment, transport and assist as needed.
• Document patient status in radiology/CT chart; report variances and repeats for quality improvement.
• Maintain stock, handle general office duties, ensure proper film labeling and technique quality.
• Practice safe radiation exposure and overall safety for patients, visitors and staff.
