Job summary

United Hospital Center is seeking a CT technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures, work across CT and radiology, and uphold safety standards. The role involves patient prep, image acquisition, and collaboration with radiologists to ensure high-quality CT studies.

Applicants should have a medical imaging program background, ARRT/NMTCB certification, and state radiography licensure per WV requirements. BLS and background checks are required after hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• ARRT or NMTCB radiography certification within 6 months of hire.
• Current or temporary radiography license per state requirements.
• MD: Radiographer license through the Maryland Board of Physicians.
• OH: Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology.
• PA: No state license is required.
• WV: Radiography license OR Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic CT license via WV Board.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and equipment for patient exams with sterile technique.
• Performs exams per Physician orders and communicates variations.
• Observes patients/equipment and reports unusual occurrences.
• Documents patient status in radiology/CT chart.
• Maintains stock and ensures proper film labeling for quality.
• Practices safe radiation exposure and general safety.
• Complies with departmental policies and participates in safety training.
• Produces CT diagnostic quality images and evaluates technique.
• Operates mobile radiographic equipment in emergency or room as ordered.
• Provides care for neonatal to geriatric patients, including IV insertion if applicable.
• Administers IV/Oral/Rectal contrast per protocol and orders.
• Uses PACS to ensure exam availability for radiologist/readers.

Education

Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program

Radiography certification ARRT/NMTCB within 6 months

Current or temporary Radiography license per state

MD: Radiographer license via Maryland Board

OH: Radiographer license via Ohio Board

PA: No state license required

WV: Radiography OR Nuclear Medicine & Diagnostic CT license via WV Board
