Job summary

Management Recruiters Inc. – The Boston Group in Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager across all phases of construction, from pre-construction to closeout. The role requires local CT presence and a track record of managing multiple interior projects.

You will help monitor budgets, schedules, RFPs, submittals, and communications with clients and subcontractors, with 80+% time in Fairfield County and 20% in New Haven County.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of assistant project management or project administration experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Experience in commercial construction, specifically corporate interiors, tenant improvements (TI), or retail build-outs.
• Ability to support multiple fast-paced interior projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in overseeing operational aspects of construction projects, including tracking profit and loss, labor management, and documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide progress reporting across all phases.
• Support RFPs and bidding by reviewing plans, creating scope sheets, gathering data, and developing baseline schedules.
• Set up project startup sheets, track budgets, and verify job cost allocations and scope coverage.
• Review subcontracts and quotes to prevent scope gaps before issuance.
• Draft and track RFIs, Submittals, and Change Orders; coordinate with Architects and Clients on cost/schedule impacts.
• Monitor procurement schedules and long-lead items to keep sites moving.
