Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH is seeking a CT Angiography/Quality Technologist to independently perform CT procedures and 3D reconstructions, ensure safety, and assist with protocol development.

The role requires an associate degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT RT(CT) and RT(R) registrations, BLS within 30 days, and 1–3 years CT/MRI experience. On-site position with shift Tue-Fri 10:30am-9pm; on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT RT (R) registry required.
• ARRT RT (CT) registry required.
• ODH licensure required.
• 1–3 years CT or MRI technologist experience.
• Proficiency with EMR, RIS and Image Storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple physician specialties to determine needs and deliver imaging studies.
• Assess customer and co-worker needs and assist as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and imaging factors for high-quality angiographic procedures.
• Develop procedures and protocol with Medical Imaging managers.
• Responsible for accurate billing and reimbursement related to MRI and CT programs.
• Coordinate and manage Imaging Reconstruction Program, including training technologists and physicians.
• Work with the PACS team to ensure proper storage and transmission of angiographic data.
• Follow radiation and MRI safety policies and procedures.

Position Summary:

Independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures and 3D Post Processing Reconstructions utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. Available to Medical Imaging CT Staff for protocol consultation. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Functions:

Work with multiple physician specialties (cardiologists, radiologists, surgeons, etc.) to determine needs and deliver/develop appropriate imaging studies.

Assess customer & co-worker needs, determine the appropriate action, and appropriately assist as needed.

Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and the technical factors necessary to produce high-quality non-invasive angiographic procedures.

Develop procedures & protocol in conjunction with Medical Imaging managers.

Responsible for accurate billing & reimbursement issues related to the MRI and CT programs.

Coordinates and manages the Imaging Reconstruction Program, including training technologists and physicians, maintaining competencies, and monitoring quality measures.

Works closely with the PACS team to ensure appropriate storage and transmission of angiographic data.

Functions as an Imaging Technologist as needed.

Follows radiation and MRI safety policies and procedures.
