Premier Health Partners' MVH unit seeks a CT Technologist to independently perform CT procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure safe imaging practices. The role requires ARRT RT registration, CPR within 30 days, and CT registry preferred.

Minimum Associate degree and on-site work Fri–Sun shifts, with on-call potential and 72 hours per pay period. No prior experience required, though one year in CT is preferred.

  • Coordinates patient care to optimize time and satisfaction.
  • Educates patients about procedures and exam.
  • Maintains records, files and reports as required.

Title: CT Technologist
Unit: CT Scan
Hours: Fri-Sat-Sun 7a-730p
Status: Full Time, 72 hours per pay period
Facility: MVH

Position Summary

Independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Functions
  • Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.
  • Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.
  • Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
  • Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  • Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  • Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
  • Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
  • Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  • Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree.

Additional Requirements

Type of degree: Allied Health.
Area of study or major: Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.
ARRT RT (R) registry required.
CT registry preferred.
ODH licensure required.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience.
Preferred experience: One year experience or additional training in specialized field of CT.

Knowledge/Skills

Cross-sectional anatomy.
Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Proficient in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Storage.
Advanced CT computer applications.
Radiation safety.
