Job summary

AdventHealth is hiring a skilled Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team in Littleton, CO. You will set up sterile instruments, prepare medications, and assist the surgeon and team throughout procedures.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of CST experience in a surgical setting, with opportunities for salary growth through the Clinical Ladder program.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent (Required).
• Minimum 1 year CST experience in a surgical setting (Required).
• Basic Life Support BLS Cert (Required).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (Required).
• OR Technician in Surgery - NTSC (Required).

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating needs of the surgeon.
• Provides supplies or equipment for surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
• Holds retractors or instruments, applies electrocautery, and assists with suction and dressing applications.
• Assists with draping sterile field and counts with circulator before and after operation.

Job Description:

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares and labels solutions and medications used, reporting amounts for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.
• Provides supplies or equipment upon request for the surgeon, nurses, and/or anesthesiologist.
• Holds retractors or instruments, sponges or suctions operative site, applies electrocautery to clamps on bleeders, cuts suture material, connects drains to suction apparatus, and applies dressings to a wound.
• Assists with draping sterile field and covers operating and instrument tables.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic computer skills [Required]

Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]

Work Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of CST experience in a surgical setting [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support BLS Cert [Required]

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required]

OR Technician in Surgery - Certified (NTSC) [Required]
