Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a Surgical Technician for a full-time Day shift. You will assist in the operating room, prep sterile supplies, and ensure readiness for the surgeon’s needs using the preference card. This role requires a Surgical Technician program completion and relevant certifications.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent, and CST/BLS or NTSC certifications. Experience in a surgical setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program is required.
• Licenses/certifications required include BLS, CST or NTSC.

Responsibilities

• Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room, prepares room for the next patient.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in procedures, replaces supplies post-procedure.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures.
• Prepares solutions and medications, labels them, and records amounts used for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating surgeon needs per preference card.

Job Description:

• Assists with terminal cleaning of the operating room, puts equipment, supplies, and instruments away as required, and assists in prepping the room for the next patient.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures, reviews and replaces supplies in the surgical case following a procedure, and discards expired medications per protocol.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Prepares solutions and medications, labels them properly, and reports amounts used for charting.
• Prepares back table and mayo stand, anticipating the needs of the surgeon using the surgeon’s preference card.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Field of Study:

• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program

Work Experience:

• 1+ experience in a surgical setting [Preferred]
